Since first opening our doors in 2000, we have been a cornerstone of our community. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Indian River County serves more than 1,500 youth per year through our after-school and summer programs. With clubhouses in Vero Beach, Fellsmere, and Sebastian, we are within a school bus ride of every child in the county.
Our mission is a critical one...to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens.
Each Club follows the Boys & Girls Club of America's
Formula for Impact to ensure that our youth achieve priority outcomes for success. Our goal is for each child who enters our doors to be:
*On track to graduate from high school with a plan for the future,
*demonstrating good character and citizenship, and
*leading a healthy lifestyle.
We serve all children in the community between the ages of six and eighteen years old. While at the Clubs, our children are participating in renowned educational programs in a safe, structured, and positive environment. Learn more about our quality programming here.
Our programs are making a difference. Last year,
100% of our members participated in academic enrichment activities while attending
the Club each day
99% were promoted to the next grade level
99% improved or maintained their school attendance
90% showed improvement on school behavioral evaluations
88% improved or maintained their academic performance
88% completed their homework before leaving the Club each day
(Percentages based on data obtained from school and Club records as of July, 2013)
